MTN SAIL Fellowship Graduates 500 Teachers Trained in AI-Assisted Teaching

MTN SAIL Foundation has graduated its second cohort of 500 Nigerian public school teachers trained in AI-assisted teaching, developed in collaboration with Microsoft.

MTN SAIL Foundation celebrated the graduation of its second cohort at MTN Plaza in Ikoyi, Lagos. This year, 500 teachers completed the fellowship, becoming pioneers in Nigeria's first training program focused on AI-assisted teaching, developed with Microsoft and the MTN Foundation.

Scale of the Programme

The 500 graduates were trained in digital pedagogy, modern teaching methods, and responsible AI-assisted teaching, drawn from a pool of 5,000 public primary and secondary school teachers selected nationwide.

Projected Impact

If each of the 500 teachers reaches an average of 80 students a year, the group alone could affect roughly 400,000 Nigerian children within the next twelve months, and up to four million over a decade.
