WIOCC Group has secured a combined $300 million investment from the Africa Finance Corporation and Saudi-based Vision Invest to expand its data centre, fibre and subsea cable infrastructure across Africa.

The Deal

WIOCC Group signed a Shareholder Subscription Agreement with the Africa Finance Corporation (AFC) and Vision International Investment Company (Vision Invest), a Saudi-based infrastructure investor, announced on September 1, 2026. The combined $300 million investment adds to roughly $950 million WIOCC has already invested in digital infrastructure across the continent.

Where the Money Will Go

WIOCC, which operates as a carrier-neutral, open-access digital infrastructure platform present in more than 30 African countries, said the new capital will be directed toward three priorities: accelerating data centre deployment and consolidation, expanding its open-access terrestrial fibre footprint, and investing in new subsea cable assets.

Company Scale

WIOCC says it operates more than 40 data centres across the continent, including 13 core sites and more than 30 edge sites.

Why it matters

The $300 million raise is, by some distance, the largest capital raise in WIOCC's history, and adds to the roughly $950 million the company has already invested in African digital infrastructure as it works to expand data centre and fibre capacity across the continent.
