The African Development Bank Group and the United Nations Development Programme launched the AI 10 Billion Initiative at the Nairobi AI Forum, seeking to mobilise up to $10 billion by 2035 for AI development across Africa.

The Initiative

The AI Hub for Sustainable Development confirms the initiative could unlock up to $1 trillion in additional GDP and 35-40 million digital and digitally enabled jobs for Africa by 2035, if the right foundations are built now.

Job Creation Target

The initiative aims to unlock up to 40 million new jobs across Africa through targeted investments in AI foundations, entrepreneurship, regional data infrastructure, policy frameworks and skills development.
