Vodafone Business, Elsewedy Electric and Cassava Technologies announced in Cairo on September 8, 2026 a strategic partnership to build Egypt's first sovereign AI data centre, starting with 20MW of capacity and scaling to 200MW, in a project targeting up to $1 billion in investment.

The venture will begin with 20MW of capacity and could expand tenfold to 200MW, with its first phase expected to attract $200 million while investment at full capacity could reach $1 billion. The Egyptian government expects the project to attract $1 billion in foreign direct investment.
