Sierra Leone Launches Big 5 AI & Blockchain Hackathon
Sierra Leone's Ministry of Communication, Technology and Innovation, through the Sierra Leone Digital Transformation Project, launched the Big 5 Artificial Intelligence and Blockchain Hackathon 2025 at the Christex Foundation in Freetown.

The Ministry of Communication, Technology and Innovation, through the Sierra Leone Digital Transformation Project (SLDTP), launched the Big 5 Artificial Intelligence and Blockchain Hackathon 2025 at the Christex Foundation in Freetown.
SLDTP is a $50 million World Bank-funded initiative supporting broadband expansion, digital skills development and stronger government systems. Following the hackathon, the ministry has continued working with SLDTP to support the innovative solutions developed during the event.
