Greek multinational AMACO Energy Group has signed a cooperation agreement with US energy equipment maker GE Vernova to supply gas turbines for its proposed $1.5 billion Hercules AI data centre in Mombasa, Kenya.
The Partnership
Under the agreement, GE Vernova gas turbines will be integrated into the power barge planned for AMACO's Hercules project in Mombasa.
Powering AI Off the Grid
The Hercules data centre is designed to generate its own electricity through an offshore liquefied-natural-gas-powered system, operating independently of Kenya's national grid rather than drawing on it.
