Safaricom announced it will invest more than $500 million in AI infrastructure across East Africa over the next three years, as it evolves into a technology leader by 2030.

The Investment

Chief Enterprise Business Officer Cynthia Kropac unveiled the plan, which aims to build AI-ready data centres, cloud platforms and developer ecosystems for startups and enterprises.

Workforce Training

Safaricom has already trained over 5,000 employees in AI fundamentals as part of the initiative.
