Seychelles' Vice President attended the India AI Impact Summit 2026, held 16-20 February 2026 at the Bharat Mandapam convention centre in New Delhi, as part of a broader push by Seychelles to build international partnerships around artificial intelligence.

The summit convened government leaders, industry figures, and researchers from across the world to discuss AI governance, infrastructure, and applications, with a particular focus on AI's role in the Global South. Seychelles' participation at the summit's leadership track signalled the archipelago's ambition to position itself within regional and global AI policy conversations despite its small size.

The visit came months before Seychelles' Cabinet approved a National AI in Education Framework in July 2026, and preceded an announced cooperation with India on using AI in fisheries and aquaculture management later in the year — suggesting the summit trip helped lay groundwork for subsequent Seychelles-India collaboration on applied AI.

Seychelles has increasingly looked to bilateral partnerships, including with India, to access AI expertise and infrastructure support that would be difficult to develop independently given its small population and limited technical workforce.
